The monthly subscription, explained in full

Everything that arrives in your box, how plant selection works across different experience levels, and how the subscription adapts to your situation over time.

Four things in every delivery

01

The Plant

One healthy, rooted plant in a nursery pot, selected from our rotating catalog based on your quiz profile. Plants are inspected before shipping and packed in protective materials to survive transit.

The catalog includes beginner-friendly species like pothos, snake plants, and ZZ plants; intermediate options like monstera, philodendrons, and peace lilies; and advanced selections like fiddle leaf figs, calatheas, and orchids for subscribers who have updated their profile accordingly.

02

The Care Card

A printed card specific to the species you received. Covers watering frequency and method, preferred light conditions, soil type, humidity needs, fertilizing schedule, common problems and how to identify them, and propagation basics if you want to grow more from cuttings.

Care cards are written to be practical rather than exhaustive. They give you enough information to succeed without overwhelming you with botanical detail.

03

The Seasonal Tip Sheet

A one-page guide that addresses what your plants need during the current season. In winter, it covers reduced light, heating vents that dry air, and adjusted watering schedules. In spring, it discusses repotting timing, fertilizing windows, and new growth care.

The tip sheet is relevant to the month you receive it and applies to your entire collection, not just the new arrival.

04

The Accessory

A small, practical item chosen to complement that month's plant. Examples include fine-mist spray bottles for humidity-loving tropicals, terracotta saucers for drainage, small bags of perlite or orchid bark for soil amendment, moisture meters for subscribers building more complex collections, and decorative pebble trays for humidity management.

Accessories are not random. Each one is selected to support the care of the plant it arrives with.

How plant selection changes across experience levels

Your quiz answers place you in a starting experience tier. This determines which plants are eligible for your subscription. You can move between tiers at any time.

Beginner

Forgiving, resilient species

Plants selected for beginners tolerate inconsistent watering, adapt to a range of light conditions, and recover from common mistakes. The focus is on building confidence and understanding basic care rhythms before introducing more demanding plants.

  • Pothos (Epipremnum aureum)
  • Snake plant (Sansevieria)
  • ZZ plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia)
  • Spider plant (Chlorophytum comosum)
  • Heartleaf philodendron
Intermediate

More specific care needs

Intermediate plants reward attention to detail. They have more specific preferences around humidity, watering timing, and light quality. Subscribers at this level have typically kept plants alive for a season or more and are ready for more variety.

  • Monstera deliciosa
  • Peace lily (Spathiphyllum)
  • Rubber plant (Ficus elastica)
  • Chinese evergreen (Aglaonema)
  • Bird of paradise (Strelitzia)
Advanced

Rewarding but demanding

Advanced selections require consistent conditions, careful watering, and attention to early signs of stress. These plants are appropriate for subscribers who have a stable growing environment and enjoy the detail work of careful plant care.

  • Fiddle leaf fig (Ficus lyrata)
  • Calathea ornata and related species
  • Alocasia varieties
  • Orchids (Phalaenopsis and others)

Updating your experience level takes effect on your next shipment, not immediately.

How light conditions shape your selections

Light is the single most important factor in plant survival. A plant that needs bright indirect light will decline in a dim room regardless of how well everything else is managed. The quiz asks specific questions about your windows to understand what you are actually working with.

Low Light

North-facing windows, rooms with small windows, or spaces where natural light does not reach directly. Suitable plants include pothos, snake plants, ZZ plants, and cast iron plants.

Medium Indirect

East or west-facing windows, or spaces set back from south-facing windows. A wide range of plants thrive here, including most philodendrons, peace lilies, and monsteras.

Bright Indirect

Near south or west-facing windows without direct sun hitting the leaves. Opens up options like fiddle leaf figs, rubber plants, birds of paradise, and most succulents.

Grow Light

Subscribers using supplemental grow lighting have the widest selection available. Grow lights can simulate the conditions of any natural light environment when used correctly.
